Input Bits
Input Bits are pink. They are the eyes and ears of the system.

Motion Trigger *
The motion trigger is similar to the sensor on an automatic door: when someone is moving nearby, it sends an ON signal to the following bits. The motion trigger will detect any human motion within 10 sq. feet.
|
Pressure Sensor
The pressure sensor is touch-activated. Give its pad a little squeeze to activate it. The more pressure you apply, the more signal it sends out.
|
Light Sensor
The light sensor measures how much light is shining on it. It has two modes: “light” and “dark.” In “light” mode, the more light shines on the sensor, the higher the signal it sends out. In “dark” mode, it's just the opposite – the signal increases the darker it gets. You can use a screwdriver to adjust the sensitivity. Use a bargraph Bit to see how it's working!
|
Sound Trigger *
The sound trigger listens to the noise level in the room, and sends an ON signal when it gets over a certain level. Use it with an LED Bit to light up a room when you clap your hands. Make that threshold louder or softer using the littleBits screwdriver.
|
Temperature Sensor
Each mode operates between 0 and 99 degrees and the voltage coming out of the module is proportional to the temperature reading. For example, a temperature of 85 degrees will result in an output of 85% power.
The temperature sensor is not an instant read device. If you move it from a warm space to a very cold space (or vice versa) then it might take a minute for the temperature of the chip to adjust. |
Threshold
Use it to make any sensor module into a trigger module. Sensor won't activate the device until the sound, temperature, pressure, or light reaches the level designated on the threshold. Turn the knob to raise or lower the required threshold for activation.
|
Slide Dimmer
Control the slide dimmer Bit by moving its lever from one end of the Bit to the other. It functions just like a light dimmer you might find at home.
|
Pulse
The pulse Bit sends out a stream of short ON signals. Make the speed of the pulses faster or slower using the littleBits screwdriver. It's great for making LEDs blink!
|
Button
Push to turn your creation on, and release to turn it off.
|
Timeout *
The timeout Bit is a timer that you can set to turn something on or off after a determined period of time (between 1 second and 5 minutes). The timeout does not work as an input by itself. It needs to be used in combination with another input before it. For example, the button and the timeout go really well together. Use the littleBits screwdriver to set the timer.
